We help developers improve how their game feels, focusing on player feedback, responsiveness, clarity, UX, and emotional cohesion.
This includes things like:
-
Making actions feel punchier and more satisfying
-
Identifying areas of missing contextual player feedback
-
Improving visual, audio, and animation feedback
-
Helping players understand what’s happening without handholding
-
Fixing unclear UX or confusing interactions
-
Polishing pacing, tone, and emotional intent
-
Identifying friction points you may be too close to notice
Our goal is to help you make your game feel as good as it can with the tools you already have.
False Prism is all about helping people make better games. This is a skillset that you can start refining right from when you pick up your first game engine, and continue refining years into a career in games.
As such, we have tried to make these services accessible to all, curated to your specific needs, from those working on their first game to studios gearing up to publish AAA titles.
Our goal is to make this information accessible to all levels of game developers.
Each tier is tailored specifically to suit the needs and budget of the intended audience.

Tier 1 - Student Polish Session
Focused on identifying the most impactful polish improvements you can make right now. Ideal for early projects or coursework.
Tier 2 - Indie Quality Review
A more detailed session aimed at solo devs or tiny teams. We examine feedback, visual/audio clarity, UX issues, and player experience flow.
Tier 3 - Systems & Emotion Deep Dive
A in-depth breakdown of your game’s systems, emotional goals, and player experience. We look for mismatches between intention and execution, including UX holes, unclear communication, and systemic friction.
Tier 4 - Full Experience Alignment Audit
A high-level, comprehensive audit of player experience clarity, system-emotion coherence, gameplay feedback loops, UX flow, and player comprehension across key vertical slices or full builds.

Each tier increases in depth, preparation time, and discussion scope.
We work with all types of games except the following;
We do not review gambling, blockchain/crypto, pornographic, or otherwise overtly sexually-explicit games. You'll find this noted on the site and on the submission form.

If your submission falls into one of these categories, it will be declined in the vetting stage.
The process is:
-
You fill out the application form
Including your project description, gameplay clip (or build depending on tier selected), and current issues. -
Once submitted, your application gets added to the queue
Depending on how busy our schedule is, the waiting period until review is generally less than one week. -
We review your submission personally
We check if we can provide meaningful value to your project. -
If approved, we send you a private booking link
This link allows you to choose a timeslot and complete payment. -
If your project is not a fit, we’ll let you know and may offer alternative suggestions, resources, or next steps.
This ensures you never pay unless we know we can genuinely help.
Only vetted applicants receive access to book a session.
This maintains:
-
A curated, high-quality consultation experience
-
Time for thoughtful preparation
-
Protection for your project and materials

And also ensures you aren't spending anything unless we know it'd be worth your money.
Yes, absolutely.
All information, files, footage, and discussions are kept strictly confidential.
We will never share or discuss your project with anyone else without your explicit permission. If your project requires a signed NDA, we're happy to provide or sign one upon request.
You'll need:
-
A short description of your project
-
A gameplay video or link to a build (YouTube, Drive, itch.io, etc.). Please note that build reviews are only available at tier 2 or above.
-
Your biggest current design challenge
-
Confirmation that your project is not gambling/pornographic in nature
This helps us understand where you are and whether we're the right fit.
Our recommendation is linking a Google Drive folder containing the gameplay video or game build. For security, you can share this folder with contact@falseprism.com.
By linking the folder rather than specific files, you can keep the files within updated while your submitted application is on the waitlist, meaning that once your project reaches the review stage, you can be sure we're reviewing the most recent version.

However, we are also able to review gameplay videos from YouTube, or game builds from Steam or itch.io.
Typically within 3-5 days, depending on the queue.
We’ll send you a polite explanation and, where possible, offer alternative suggestions; resources, tutorials, or directions that might help.
There is never any obligation or charge for applying.
Consultations are scheduled through Zoom, with a unique meeting being generated once you book your time slot. Keep an eye out for the confirmation email containing both the meeting link and the password to join.
Depending on the tier:
-
We’ll discuss your project goals and intended emotions
-
Review your footage or build together
-
Identify what’s working and what isn’t
-
Break down your game’s feedback, clarity, and player experience
-
Outline practical fixes you can implement right away
-
Prioritize the improvements with the highest impact
Higher tiers may include deeper systemic analysis, pacing review, UX mapping, or emotional intention alignment.
You may reschedule up to 24 hours before the session.
Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable (except in cases of emergencies).
This policy helps ensure fair scheduling and preparation time.

To reschedule or cancel a session, please send an email to contact@falseprism.com and we'll be happy to assist.
Yes.
Every session comes with a written summary highlighting key issues, actionable steps, and suggested improvements.
Higher tiers include more detailed breakdowns or optional follow-up messaging.
Not at this time, but clients who complete a consultation may request follow-up sessions on a case-by-case basis.
No, our focus is strictly on:
-
Game feel
-
Player feedback
-
UX clarity
-
Polish
-
Emotional cohesion
-
Flow and pacing
We don’t provide programming or asset creation services.
Yes! Many of the most beneficial sessions happen before a game is fully built.
Early feedback often results in huge improvements with less rework.
Please note however that in tiers that accept game builds for review, we will not be able to review unbuilt projects, ie, projects that require a game engine to open and run. Builds must be ready to run on Windows or on a browser (through the likes of itch.io)
Feel free to reach out through the Contact page or by emailing contact@falseprism.com. We're happy to help you figure out whether a consultation is right for you, or answer any questions you have about the process.
