

Hello.
My name's Owen McDonnell, director here at False Prism. I started this studio in 2024 after a decade of working in games with one goal: to help the industry make better games.

Throughout all this time I've been a technical game designer, working with both indie and AAA studios. I've developed systems, managed teams, and had a hand in numerous released titles. Most importantly through all this, I've learned what it means to make a game fun.

Now, over a decade after starting in games myself. I want to share all this knowledge. I want to help the next generation of designers make awesome things, do awesome stuff, and be awesome people. And, let's be real, I want to continue making awesome games as well.

Making games rocks, but it's also challenging. Sure we can build up systems and have a playable experience, but what's the science behind making a game fun? Do games even need to be fun? We're going to break down games into the pieces you might not have even thought about.
